During a development at the University of Sheffield in 2008, GRP Building Products was commissioned to overcome issues surrounding weight bearing and colour matching of rendering. GRP used the latest methods to colour match existing rendering, then applied the finish to fibreglass replicas of stone facades. These could then be easily installed to the new build structures.

GRP Building Products was contacted by Fileturn to provide a fast solution to a building project. One of The Real Greek restaurant chain locations in London underwent a refurbishment in 2008 and needed a supplier to manufacture and deliver grp products in a short time span. Working from architectural drawings, GRP colour matched the existing render on a brick wall then provided render finished grp walls and grp bench seating in sections to be installed on-site. The on-site installation of all grp products took around 5 hours.

As real stone was deemed unsuitable owing to weight and installation restrictions, a lightweight replication of stone was required for an 8 floor multi-storey car park in Belfast. In 2009, GRP Building Products were asked to produce and supply grp stone effect cornices, grp stringcourses, grp arches and grp keystones for a building project, working from architect's technical drawings. The resulting material provided savings in production time, weight and installation.

The owners of this Grade 2 listed building commissioned GRP Building Products to produce and replace the original lead box guttering and square downspouts. The age of the building meant that a lightweight, lead effect replacement was needed. GRP produced bespoke replacement materials which were then finished with an effect to replicate the age of original and existing material.

Sandstone effect bespoke replacement grp gargoyle
This sports centre of excellence commissioned GRP Building Products to replace an original stone gargoyle that had become weathered and lost its features. From a mould casting GRP designed and produced a replica gargoyle which was then fitted over the top of the original feature, avoidiing the disruption that would be caused to the building by the removal of an original 60cm supporting lead pin. The feature was finished in replica aged sandstone effect providing a perfect match to the existing material.
